Money Talks: Providing financial wellbeing advice directly to tenants’ doors

The free newsletter, called Money Talks, provides information and suggestions to help tenants financially.

Inverclyde based housing association, River Clyde Homes, has provided a financial wellbeing advice newsletter to help its tenants.

The free newsletter, called Money Talks, provides information and suggestions to help tenants financially and to deal with claiming and maintaining benefits such as Pension Credit, Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.

It has been sent directly to all tenants, but it can also be found on the housing association's website and on their social media channels.

The newsletter also looks at the practical services and support that River Clyde Homes provides to its tenants through its Financial Wellbeing Team, who in 2020/21 helped its tenants claim over £2.1 million in benefits. The advice is free and confidential, and they can signpost and make referrals to other organisations.

Siobhan Sneddon, Interim Inclusive Communities Manager, said: “Money Talks is designed to help our customers by providing up to date and practical information to assist them financially. It provides help and assistance through these difficult times, particularly if they receive benefits. Our knowledgeable and friendly Financial Wellbeing Team is also available to provide customers with free and confidential assistance should they wish to speak to someone directly.”

Money Talks can be found at www.riverclydehomes.org.uk or to contact a Financial Wellbeing Officer for advice or support, call 0800 013 2196.
