MSP Jackie Baillie has lodged motions in Parliament recognising the work of housing associations operating in West Dunbartonshire. In two separate motions, the 25th anniversary of Bellsmyre Housing Association and the achievement of Cordale Housing at the Scottish Home Awards were recognised.

The motions read:

“That the Parliament congratulates Bellsmyre Housing Association on its 25th anniversary; understands that the association will celebrate the milestone with an afternoon tea party; notes that invitations will be sent to over-65s in the area; further notes that it is also planning a fun/information day for all residents on 26th August 2017; thanks Bellsmyre Housing Association for its commitment to the local community, and hopes that it continues to provide such an excellent service.

The Parliament commends Cordale Housing Association on being named Housing Association of the Year at the Scottish Home Awards; understands that the Renton-based social landlord was given the honour at a gala dinner in July 2017; notes that the team was delighted with the award, including Cordale’s chair, Margaret McCallion; thanks the whole team for the great service that it provides, which ultimately has a positive impact on the whole community, and wishes everyone well for the future.”
