Negotiating the digital minefield - Join the new digital housing community

Navigating the pitfalls of the digital world can be very challenging and confusing. Doing it collectively will give us a better chance at successfully harnessing the opportunities that digitisation can bring.

As digital and IT is increasingly at the forefront of many housing sector organisations, the vast breadth of expertise needed and the multitude of options around things like housing management systems, cyber security and data storage can make decisions difficult to make on what will work or be most value for money.

Creating a new digital housing community – the launch of SFHA Digital and IT Forum

SFHA are announcing the launch of the Digital and IT Forum with the first forum happening this Autumn on 29 September at 13:00 – 15:00. Our ambition and goal is to ensure SFHA member housing associations and co-operatives have the time and space to come together to better understand, collaborate and share best practice on all things digital and IT related.

Following recent report into the findings of SFHA’s Digital Maturity benchmarking, we know that digital progression is a strategic priority for the majority of our members.

We know that the past 18 months has vastly changed the way we all use digital platforms, and we want to support our members continue to build on this. Using the Digital Maturity of the Scottish Housing Sector as a starting point, this initial session will allow us to look at the areas and skills that matter most to your organisation in future forums and resources.

Content discussed will cover the following digital and IT areas:

  • Cyber Security
  • Digital Strategy
  • Housing Management Systems
  • IT systems and Technology
  • Procurement
  • Reporting and analysis of data
  • Tenant online engagement

Forum format

The forum will be taking place on a quarterly basis in a roundtable format, with the opportunity for members to set the agenda depending on what is most current or important to them. There will also be the option of guest speakers on specific topics or emerging technology, plus the option of breakout rooms at the end for any attendees wishing to have a more informal chat. Each forum will last approx. 1 and half hours with 30 minutes optional time for networking at the end.

The Forum will be hosted by Gary Dickson, Digital and Design Manager, SFHA and Michael McLaughlin, Digital Lead for HACT.

Who can attend?

This forum is for any SFHA member organisation staff, managing or working in IT or digital roles at a senior, team, officer, or junior role wishing to expand their networks.
