Offsite construction offers the technical opportunity to deliver Scotland’s housing at speed, to a high quality and in a safe working environment, while energising the local economy.
An event, developed as a collaboration between Architecture and Design Scotland and Forestry Commission Scotland, will explore how offsite construction can be delivered in Scotland.
The organisers have described the event’s key aim as accelerating offsite housing delivery in Scotland by:
- Breaking down actual and perceived barriers to the adoption of offsite construction methods;
- Demonstrating the opportunities offsite housing presents and demystifying the skills required; and
- Celebrating built examples of innovative housing in the north of Scotland.
The event will take place in on Wednesday 26 September in Inverness to showcase offsite construction innovation in the Highlands. There is also the opportunity to tour manufacturing facilities and built examples the day before the event.
