Port of Leith Housing Association has been awarded silver accreditation for excellence in customer participation and engagement by the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) Scotland.

The accreditation process included a detailed audit and focus groups with tenants and staff to assess the association’s performance across 10 standards, including providing good information for tenants, having effective tenant involvement structures and working in partnership with tenants.

Keith Anderson, Chief Executive, Port of Leith Housing Association, said: “We are very pleased to be recognised for our commitment to involving our customers in decision making and for working with our customers to continually improve our services and provide value for money. It’s a great achievement, which all our staff and customers can be proud of.

“We are looking forward to continuing to work in partnership with our customers and to introducing more ways for customers to get involved and to make a difference.”

Douglas Wilson from TPAS Scotland said: “Port of Leith Housing Association has recently undergone the TPAS accreditation process and has been recognised for delivering opportunities for their tenants and customers.

“The award of the silver standard for customer engagement/tenant participation by TPAS acknowledges the work of the tenants and staff who have strived to realise these opportunities.

“TPAS anticipates that the award will inspire the staff, customer and tenants to continue on this path of continuous improvement and to further increase opportunities for tenants and customers to influence decisions and improve services whilst working in partnership together.”
