Procurement update: ICT Products frameworks

Latest update on supply chains and catalogues.

Supply chain update

As the Scottish Government previously advised in November 2020, global supply chains continue to be constrained, and it is important that customers incorporate any potential delays into their planned refresh projects prior to the end of FY20-21. Framework suppliers have advised the ICT Products team that supply chain challenges are still impacting delivery and lead times, and demand continues to outstrip supply.

The closure of factories and logistics operations during the Chinese New Year between 11 and 17 February 2021 may have a further impact on lead times for most manufacturers, including HP, Dell, Lenovo, Apple and Microsoft.

Customers are advised to place orders as soon as possible for delivery and invoicing requirements prior to end of March 2021. As in previous years, suppliers will make every effort to deliver and invoice before the end of the financial year, however, for any large or critical orders, please discuss with your account managers, so requirements can be considered in supply chain planning, and advise of lead times and/or options to reduce these where possible.

Customers are reminded that framework suppliers continue to offer up to six months’ free warehousing service for Scottish Procurement Framework customers. Warranty entitlement and invoicing will commence at point of delivery.
