River Clyde Homes provide parcels to new parents thanks to Cash for Kids

Cash for Kids donate baby goods from a warehouse clearance to help Inverclyde’s new parents who need it most.

The River Clyde Homes Group has said that it has been able to support people in the Inverclyde community recently, all thanks to grant money from Cash for Kids.

Following two successful grant awards, which were used to fund food vouchers and food packs, Cash for Kids got in touch to offer a large amount of baby goods they had access to from a warehouse clearance. Staff at River Clyde Homes have now taken receipt of an abundance of new baby items, including cot and pram sheets and blankets, various baby clothes, mattresses, bibs, hats and rattles, which may help some of Inverclyde’s new parents who need it most during the current Covid-19 situation.

Several families have already received a parcel and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

One father called to thank RCH, he said: “I am over the moon at the items I’ve received. They will be of great use for our nine-month-old baby girl and our new baby, due in November.”

The group said that the "terrific effort" would not have been possible without volunteers from the RCH Group itself, Inverclyde Community Action Response Group and Belville Community Gardens.
