Scottish Water Working Group, Legal Agreement Workshops 2

Representatives from Scottish Water have been hosting workshops in Glasgow and Edinburgh to discuss the content of the Water and Sewerage Vesting Agreements.

As most SFHA members will be aware, representatives from Scottish Water have been hosting workshops in Glasgow and Edinburgh to discuss the content of the Water and Sewerage Vesting Agreements that will become compulsory with the introduction of the new process for vesting assets later this year.

Representatives from developers, housing associations and other interested parties attended Workshop 1, held at the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations’ office in Glasgow and Homes for Scotland in Edinburgh in July.

A second round of workshops is now planned (see dates and locations below) and the SFHA would encourage all developers and housing associations to get involved in these discussions, whether by attending the workshops or by giving written feedback on the legal agreements via the undernoted contacts.

Engagement with developers is key to the success of the project, and Scottish Water is keen to understand industry requirements and continue ongoing dialogue to make it easier to vest assets.

Scottish Water has announced it is launching significant improvements to the existing asset vesting process, which will directly benefit their customers and the wider internal business. The change will take effect later this year.

Workshop 2:

Tuesday 23 August, 10am–12.30pm, Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, Sutherland House, 149 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5NW

Thursday 25 August, 10am–12.30pm, Homes for Scotland, 5 New Mart Place, Edinburgh, EH14 1RW.
