Social Enterprise Exchange Marketplace

The Social Enterprise Exchange Marketplace will be held on Thursday 5 September in the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow between 10am and 4pm.

A dynamic and exciting one day event, the exchange will feature a marketplace of over 85 exhibitors and a diverse mix of hundreds of delegates – with many opportunities for trading, learning and making new business connections – helping take Scotland’s brilliant social enterprise sector from strength to strength.

In a country of less than 5.5 million people, Scotland’s social enterprise sector includes approximately 5,600 organisations, contributes 1.68 billion pounds to the economy annually, and employs over 100,000 people.

So, it’s fitting that the eleventh Social Enterprise World Forum, an annual global event designed to “create a global social enterprise movement” was recently held in Edinburgh. Over 1,200 delegates from 47 countries gathered to collaborate, network and discuss how they could help tackle the world’ s social and environmental problems.

Throughout the event a common theme emerged: the need to strengthen the relationship between the commercial and social business sectors to create an even bigger social impact.  This year’ s Social Enterprise Exchange

Marketplace aims to do just that.

Social Enterprise Scotland will work with partners in the commercial sector to identify and showcase social enterprises, the length and breadth of Scotland, that are equipped and have the potential to meet their supply chain needs.

The marketplace will be a unique forum for commercial and social businesses to explore opportunities, celebrate and showcase the social impact achieved through existing and new partnerships.

It is anticipated that there will be 85 exhibitors, predominantly from the social enterprise sector, as well as buyers from across the country looking to diversify their supply chain with some of the best social enterprise products and services available nationally.
