Social Security Scotland gets ready for Scottish Child Payment
Roadshows being held for those that work with, and support, families in order to highlight the new benefit.
In the run up to the opening of applications for the Scottish Child Payment, anticipated to be sometime in November, Social Security Scotland is working hard to make sure everyone who is entitled to this benefit knows that it is available and applies.
The Scottish Government has published a policy position paper, outlining what it is doing to promote take up of this new benefit and series of roadshows have been arranged, aimed at people who work with, and support, families.
The events will provide information about the eligibility criteria and how clients can apply for the benefit. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions. The agency sees stakeholders playing a key role in the promotion of benefits. The agency’s hope is that, by working together, the money will go to those who need it and will make a significant contribution to tackling poverty and inequality.
