TC Young is delighted to announce a number of promotions. Alastair McKendrick and Lauren Little have been promoted to Partner and Catherine McQuarrie and Paul Taylor have been promoted to Associate. Alastair, Lauren and Catherine are based in the firm’s Social Housing Department and Paul is part of the family Law Team.

Alastair will continue to lead the Housing Litigation Department in TC Young’s Edinburgh office. He manages a wide variety of cases, including construction, contract and property disputes, together with all aspects of housing law for registered social landlords, letting agents and private landlords. In addition, he handles all types of Court of Session actions and, as a result, liaises with counsel regularly. He is also the lead for data protection matters.

Lauren is now the lead partner for finance, procurement and commercial matters. She has extensive experience in negotiating commercial contracts on behalf of clients for a variety of goods, supplies and services. Lauren has experience in the interpretation of the procurement regulations as they relate to the specific contract requirements within the registered social landlord sector. Lauren also leads on construction and corporate law matters.

Catherine has extensive experience in debt recovery, housing law, evictions, repossessions and sequestration for both registered social landlords and the private rented sector. She regularly appears in sheriff courts throughout Scotland and is skilled in both negotiating settlements and conducting contested litigation.

Paul regularly gives advice on divorce, separating couples, residence and contact, cohabitation and prenuptial agreements. Paul works with clients to identify their individual requirements, looking particularly at how the impact of separation affects any children of the relationship. Paul regularly represents clients in sheriff courts throughout Scotland.

Andrew Cowan, Managing Partner at TC Young, said:

“Alastair, Lauren, Catherine and Paul are extremely valued members of the firm and each has made a significant contribution to the growth of their departments. This is a really exciting time for TC Young and these promotions ensure that we will continue to grow and develop the wide range of legal services that we are able to provide our clients in the housing and private client sectors.”
