Technology improving housing solutions for tenants
The TEC in Housing Charter has been developed to support and underpin the use of innovative TEC to create and deliver housing solutions
Fife Council has signed up to the Technology Enabled Care (TEC) in Housing Charter.
The TEC in Housing Charter has been developed to support and underpin the use of innovative TEC to create and deliver housing solutions. This is part of the TEC Ready Programme funded by the Scottish Government.
At the heart of the Charter are seven pledges. These have a strong focus on engaging customers in the design of TEC services, encourage partnership working and the sharing of ideas, and include a willingness to review and redesign services to support TEC solutions for customers.
Marian Reid, TEC in Housing Project, said: “We’re delighted that Fife Council has signed up to the Technology Enabled Care in Housing Charter.
“Housing organisations across Scotland can make a major difference to the health and well-being of their customers. In signing up to the charter, Fife Council is demonstrating commitment to the use of TEC in creating and delivering housing solutions and to supporting local communities.
“Signing up to the pledges provides Fife Council with the potential to make a huge contribution to supporting the health and wellbeing of tenants. The charter is an important tool to help social housing providers use technology to offer personalised services to tenants.
“Having the right support in the right home enables people to live safely and independently.
Fife Council’s Housing Services are exploring how best to meet the health, wellbeing and housing needs of tenants using TEC.
Paul Short, Service Manager, Fife Council, said: “At Fife Council, we’re working to identify how technology can be used to provide enhanced services to our customers. We’ve already completed one successful TEC pilot and are currently reviewing how technology can support other services.
“The TEC in Housing Charter provides an excellent framework to ensure that our customers are at the heart of the technological services we provide.”
