Updates to Building Standards Technical Handbooks for use from 1 June 2022
interim update to the Domestic and Non-domestic Technical Handbooks.
The Scottish Government has now provided an interim update to the Domestic and Non-domestic Technical Handbooks which explains how to achieve the requirements set out in the Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004.
The updates, which apply from 1 June 2022, include changes to section 0 (general), section 2 (fire) and appendix A (defined terms). A summary of the key changes can be found here.
A series of webinars will be arranged to begin in June to provide information in relation to these new requirements. Dates for the events and how to register will be confirmed by the end of May. Information will be made available via this link.
A full update will follow later in May to include changes to section 3 (environment) and section 6 (energy) which will apply from 1 October 2022.
