Victoria Infirmary consultation process extended

Residents to have their say on former hospital site

Posted In

Residents will be given more time to share their thoughts on the development of the former Victoria Infirmary site in Glasgow.

Sanctuary Group has extended the consultation dates to give additional opportunities for community feedback. The consultation events that were due to take place on 23 and 25 March have been postponed and will now take place on Thursday 20 and Saturday 22 April.

They will again take the form of two informal drop-in sessions, so local people can call in at the time that is most convenient for them.

An exhibit of the proposed planning design will be on display at these sessions and representatives from Sanctuary and the design team, Collective Architecture, will be in attendance to answer questions and discuss the plans.

The events will be taking place at Langside Library on Sinclair Drive, Glasgow – running from 2pm until 7pm on Thursday 20 April, and 10am till 3pm on the Saturday 22 April.

Peter Martin, Group Director - Development at Sanctuary Group, said:

“We have always understood how important the Victoria is to local people and have extended the consultation period to give people more time to share their views.

‘We have been hugely impressed by the interest from the local community in this development and the more involvement we have the better the resulting development will be. It’s vital we consider as much feedback as possible before producing updated proposals.

‘We are already looking forward to sharing these proposals with the community and hope that lots of people take the opportunity to come along and view it on 20 and 22 April.”
