West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA) has now completed the transfer of Charing Cross Housing Association and welcomed its new tenants, customers, and staff on the 1 August.

Charing Cross tenants backed the proposed transfer to West of Scotland Housing Association with 96.1% voting YES to the proposal.

WSHA is now ready to start delivering on the promises made to Charing Cross tenants including a one-year rent freeze, significant additional investment in homes, increased opportunities for tenant engagement and a host of other improvements in local community services.

WSHA has over 3,700 affordable homes across Scotland. The transfer from Charing Cross brings another 512 additional homes and 900 factored homes.

Brain Gannon, Chief Executive Officer at WSHA, said: “Everyone at West of Scotland Housing Association is delighted to welcome all Charing Cross tenants, customers and staff. We feel very privileged that the tenants in the historic communities of Woodlands and Garnethill have put their faith in us to deliver on our transfer promises. We look forward to not only delivering our investment promises to both communities but also the excellent wider support services and strong community engagement that existing WSHA tenants have benefited from for many years.”
