Williamsburgh Housing Association has announced the completion of its new build development at Milliken Road, Kilbarchan. The development, designed by Collective Architecture and built by McTaggart Construction, consists of 18 cottage flats, 14 one-bedroom and four two-bedroom properties.

The project, costing a total of £2.9 million, was made possible by working in partnership with Renfrewshire Council and a grant of £1.3 million from the Scottish Government’s Affordable Housing Supply Programme.

The project was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic, but, thanks to the hard work of the project Design Team and McTaggart Construction, the development is now complete, and all 18 residents have moved into their new homes.

Williamsburgh Chairperson Susan James said: “We are absolutely delighted with our new development in Kilbarchan. The homes have been built to an exceptionally high standard, are spacious, and are also a lovely addition to the village.

"Our residents are thrilled and are looking forward to settling in and getting to know each other, in what I’m sure will be very happy and close-knit community."

Janice Russell, Director of McTaggart Construction, said: “This project has gone beyond the bricks and mortar objectives. Our community benefits team have exceeded their targets in every category, with particular success in work-based training and employment support initiatives.”
