Williamsburgh Housing Association marks 40th anniversary
Community event held to celebrate WHA milestone.
On Friday 5 July, Williamsburgh Housing Association (WHA) held a community fund day at Mckerrell Street Play Park to mark its 40th anniversary. Over 150 community members attended the event and got to take part in various fun activities.
Attendees enjoyed free food, which included locally sourced burgers; soup, cooked with vegetables grown in the Paisley Grammar and Violet Street Community Gardens; and cupcakes to celebrate WHA’s birthday. Other activities for the attendees included face painting, circus skills, and arts and crafts.
There was also an opportunity for community members to provide ideas on what they would like to see happening in Seedhill.
Bryan Dando, Community Regeneration Officer, Williamsburgh Housing Association,
said: “We understand that the school holidays can be an expensive time for families, and, as part of the Williamsburgh’s 40th Anniversary celebrations as a housing association in Renfrewshire, we wanted to provide a free event in our community.
“It was great to see so many Seedhill community members attend the event and really enjoy themselves. I’m sure this is the busiest Mckerrell Street Play Park has ever been.”
