WLHP supports struggling West Lothian families with school supply funding
WLHP made a donation to The School Bank West Lothian, a volunteer-led group which provides essential items, such as school uniforms, jackets, bags, footwear, PE kits and stationery, to families facing financial difficulties.
A West Lothian charity which aims to improve the lives of children and families has received a £600 cash boost from West Lothian Housing Partnership (WLHP).

The charity is helping people and families cope with the cost of living crisis.
WLHP, part of Wheatley Group, stepped in with the donation ahead of children going back to school after the summer holidays.
WLHP Head of Housing Lynsey Fotheringham said: “We work closely with The School Bank West Lothian throughout the year. They do incredible work which has a huge impact on our communities.
“We hope our donation will allow them to support even more people during a time when many households are struggling to make ends meet.”
One WLHP tenant who got help from the charity said: “I had heard of The School Bank West Lothian and eventually decided to speak to my housing officer about it. The stuff you get is great, and it’s been a massive weight off my shoulders.
“Total respect to everyone who chips in to help people like myself who are on low-incomes and need support. It’s so helpful.”
Collette Moran, Project Manager at The School Bank West Lothian, added: “In the past 12 months, we helped 1,344 local children. Our ethos is more than simply giving out clothes. We aim to improve self-esteem, encourage inclusion at school with peers and, ultimately, let the young people know they are valued and their community cares.
“We are approaching our busiest time of year – we’re getting packs ready for children, so they can go to school in August with the right uniform, able to fully participate in their education and improve their life chances.
“This donation from WLHP is very welcome and well timed. It will make a huge difference to the number of children we can support. Thank you.”
