CAF Bank: From resilience to the road ahead

Since we last gathered in the beautiful setting of Crieff, it’s been a time of uncertainty and adaptation across the charitable sector. While managing the pandemic’s shock to their finances, charities and housing associations have developed new ways to support communities in need.
For CAF Bank, it’s also been a story of resilience. Taking inspiration from the work of the organisations we exist to serve, we focused on how we could better support clients:
- continuing to provide charities with access to banking facilities and loan finance support, at a time when some other banks turned them away
- launching the CAF AdaptAbility Hub to equip charities with practical tools, resources and ideas to help future-proof their finances and strategies
- working with lending clients to modify terms, including the offer of six month repayment holidays and further extensions when requested.
So we were deeply honoured to stand beside high-achieving charities at the Charity Times Awards 2021, when receiving recently the accolade of 'Charities’ Bank of the Year'.
As well as reflecting on the sector’s past challenges and achievements, the Finance Conference offered a chance to explore how we work together on the goals and opportunities that lie ahead – to meet the growing demand for safe, affordable and energy-efficient homes, while reaching net zero.
