Calling experienced housing professionals: Your chance to be featured in '40 over 40'!

SFHA members are encouraged to nominate their experienced and inspiring colleagues for inclusion in 24 Housing’s ’40 over 40’ list.

24 Housing has revealed a new list aimed at showcasing what can be learned from the “old school” of the housing sector, and is looking for entries from housing association staff.

Most of 24 Housing’s initiatives have previously been aimed at the sector’s next generation, with a Young Leaders competition paving the way for young housing professionals to take that step to the next level. However, there are many members of staff who deserve recognition for their length of service and continued hard work.

The list will highlight housing professionals over the age of 40, who have been working in the sector for over 10 years.

The aim is to highlight those who make an organisation tick: housing officers who know their patch better than some of the residents living there; financial officers who have saved tenants millions; or repairs operatives who have gone above and beyond.

24 Housing is particularly looking to hear the stories of those who have changed tenants’ lives, changed the way an organisation works for the better, or have proved inspiring colleagues.

The list will focus primarily on front-line staff. As such entries from Chief Executives or Directors will only be permitted where their career journey started in a front-line role.

This is a great opportunity to celebrate experienced colleagues’ contributions to their organisations and to the wider social housing sector.

SFHA encourages members to enter their nominations. To enter an inspiring colleague for inclusion in the list, e-mail mark.lawrence@24publishing.co.uk with your nomination of no more than 200 words by 28th September.

The inaugural list will be featured in the November edition of 24 Housing magazine.

Members are also invited to share their nominations with Conor Hill, SFHA Policy and Public Affairs Officer, at chill@sfha.co.uk. Following publication of the list in 24 Housing, SFHA will also spotlight some of our favourite nominations in Housing Scotland Today and on our website.
