SFHA are bringing together a representative of each of Scotland’s main parties to discuss issues affecting those under 35 or living in supported housing at a General Elections hustings in Glasgow on May 23.

The Housing the Future Hustings will see panellists answer questions from the audience on access to secure and affordable homes for young people, the possible impact the LHA cap could have for those in supported housing, the wider impacts of welfare reform and roll-out of Universal Credit and other reserved issues such as energy, fuel poverty and Brexit.

SFHA believes housing is essential to health and wellbeing, the economy, and is a prerequisite to reducing inequality. We believe everyone should be able to access an affordable, energy-efficient home which meets their needs. This hustings offers you the chance to ask candidates of each of the main parties how they propose to make this a reality.
To ensure a wide-ranging discussion, SFHA are welcoming the submission of questions from our members, local youth and disability organisations and the wider public.

To submit a question please email it to smitchell@sfha.co.uk and please include your name, organisation and whether or not you will be able to attend on the night to ask your question. Please ensure the subject of your email is ‘SFHA Hustings’.

For further details on the event, including information on our panellists, please check the updates on the SFHA website and Twitter page throughout the week.

We look forward to an interesting and informative debate on the night.
