Hear about the impact of welfare reform and how to respond well to domestic abuse – just two of the reasons to come to this year’s Housing Management Conference.

The theme of this year’s Housing Management Conference, which takes place on the 24 & 25 September at The Studio in Glasgow, is putting the social in social housing and together we will explore ways to care for your tenants, care for your organisation and care for you.   

Here are our top five reasons to come along to the conference:  

1 Find out about the impact of welfare reform on housing associations  

Welfare reforms continue to have a transformational effect on the housing association sector. Dr Paul Hickman recently let a study to explore a more rounded and complete understanding of the challenges facing housing associations. Paul will explain these and give comment where further research is needed.   

2 Hear from the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service on Home Safety Awareness  

Scottish Fire & Rescue are embarking on an ambitious programme to transform Fire Safety Visits to Safe and Well Visits. As part of this, they are looking to work in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders including social landlords, to get referrals for a visit, but also contact partners if an intervention is needed. Join this session to hear about how your organisation can get involved to keep your tenants safe.  

3 You will get the chance to destress at the conference  

As one of this year’s key themes is self-care, delegates at the conference will get the chance to destress with some chair yoga and there will even be a masseuse available throughout the conference!  

4 Find out how to respond well to domestic abuse  

Hear about sector guidance on responding to domestic abuse and find out more about an organisational approach that one housing association has taken.

The conference takes place on the 24 & 25 September at The Studio in Glasgow city centre. Day delegate rates start at £229 for SFHA Members (£319 for non members) which includes attendance, lunch and all refreshments.
