Free Personal and Nursing Care Guidance Published
Legislation has been passed that entitles all adults – irrespective of age, condition, socio-economic position or marital status – to free personal care. Starting in April 2019, plans are well underway to help stakeholders get ready for this change. Yvette Burgess, Director of the Housing Support Enabling Unit, highlights what SFHA members need to know.
In September 2017, the First Minister announced that Free Personal Care would be extended to all adults. Currently free personal care is only available to those aged 65 and over who are found eligible by their local authorities to receive personal care.
