Get involved in Scottish Housing Day 2020
Wednesday 16 September.
Scottish Housing Day, taking place this year on 16 September, is about celebrating the impact housing makes to the lives of people and communities in Scotland.
The Covid-19 pandemic has shown just how important a safe, secure, warm, good quality, affordable home is to our wellbeing. Now in its fifth year, Scottish Housing Day 2020 will focus on the value of social housing. Those taking part in the day will be invited to share their thoughts and experiences around the role of social housing and the positive impact it can have on people’s lives.
More information on how to get involved can be found on the Scottish Housing Day website. If you haven’t already signed-up to be a supporter you can do so here. You will also find a supporter’s pack with useful resources to help promote this year’s event.
There will also be a Q&A webinar at 13:00 on 16 September with Minister for Local Government, Housing and Planning Kevin Stewart; Alison Watson, Director of Shelter Scotland; and Leonora Montgomery, Chair and Secretary of Aberdeen’s Citywide Multi Storey Group; as they share their thoughts on the value of social housing. If you would like to attend, further details and booking information can be found here.
If you are already hosting your own event, you are invited to share this on the website. Remember to follow @scothousingday on Twitter and you can also use the hashtag #scottishhousingday to share your own activities and see what other are doing.
