How can we future proof the Scottish housing sector and attract young people into a housing career?

SFHA Annual Conference, Housing Scotland, 14 and 15 June 2022, Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow.

Our Annual Conference, taking place on 14 and 15 June, provides an opportunity for you to gain skills, exchange ideas and network with other sector leaders and senior staff.

As part of our Routes to Housing campaign, this year’s conference will feature a workshop exploring how we can develop a more inclusive workplace and attract more young people into the social housing sector.

Kayleigh Osborne-Brown, Loreburn Housing Association and Jamie Aitchison, Berwickshire Housing Association, will join Linda Cameron and Maureen Morris from Easterhouse Housing and Regeneration Alliance to discuss young people in housing, what they aspire to and what action has already been taken.

We will also be joined by Trevor Smith, GEM Programme, Barry Johnstone, Caledonia Housing Association and Steven Henderson, Wheatley Group for a workshop on ‘Future proofing the housing sector’. It will look at how we create a talent pool of upcoming housing professionals to ensure the sector’s sustainability.

The conference, sponsored by AICO, will also welcome several staff members under the age of 30 working within member associations and co-operatives who have been allocated a free place.
