How can you build thriving communities and address their wider needs?

Housing associations and co-operatives provide quality homes that people can afford in places they want to live – but they do so much more – supporting people when they need it, creating successful communities and changing lives for the better.

With community regeneration and engagement a high priority for both the Scottish Government and SFHA members, the federation has created a free event to showcase and discuss the work of its membership in their thriving communities across Scotland.

Come along to be inspired by organisations that have used their resources to achieve great results. Delegates can also share ideas, network and access resources to implement and drive their community engagement.

Hear from co-operatives and community-controlled associations that have communities at the very core of their organisations as well as larger organisations that are working in partnerships with local people on a wide range of projects. All of these organsiations have gone beyond their original purpose of providing housing and are making a substantial impact in addressing the wider regeneration needs of local communities.

This free event is exclusively for SFHA Members. It is aimed at senior staff as well as board members. Delegates will hear from senior figures from the across the sector whi will talk about their community strategy and regeneration.

SFHA is delighted that Urban Union and its delivery partners, Robertson Partnership Homes, will be sponsoring this new event.

Urban Union is a joint venture company that regenerates urban areas across Scotland. Founded in 2011, it creates revitalised communities through building new, high quality, affordable homes.

The conference takes place on 9 April at The Hanover Conference Centre in Edinburgh. Conveniently located off Leith Walk in Edinburgh’s city centre, it offers easy access from all major transport links.
