How to Cope with Being Complained About

Housing Management Conference, 24 & 25 September, The Studio in Glasgow.

Posted In

Being complained about can and does have a negative impact. This impact can be mitigated though the application of clear processes which both involve and support the person complained about.

At this year’s Housing Management Conference, taking place on the 24 & 25 September, Carolyn Hirst, independent mediator, will lead on a session that will explore the Being Complained About – Good Practice Guidelines.

Carolyn Hirst is an independent consultant working in her own business (Hirstworks) as a mediator, investigator, complaints reviewer, researcher, trainer and coach. She is also a part-time Housing Mediation Project Development Worker at Strathclyde University, a Housing Member of the First Tier Tribunal (Housing and Property Chamber) and the Mediation Practice Supervisor for Cyrenians. Carolyn has worked as a Deputy Scottish Public Services Ombudsman and before that in Social Housing, latterly as Deputy Director of a Housing and Care Organisation. Current Board positions include Non-Executive Director of NHS Lothian and Vice-Chair of Edinburgh Joint Integration Board.

The theme of this year’s Housing Management Conference is putting the social in social housing and together we will explore ways to care for your tenants, care for your organisation and care for you.

The conference takes place on the 24 & 25 September at The Studio in Glasgow city centre. Day delegate rates start at £229 for SFHA Members (£319 for non members) which includes attendance, lunch and all refreshments. When you book to attend both days of the Housing Management Conference, you can come for £395 - a saving of £63.00!

Book three and bring a colleague for free!

If your organisation books three day delegate places, you can bring a fourth delegate for free.
