12 and 13 February.

Posted In

This year’s SFHA Development and Procurement Conferences are taking place on 12 and 13 February at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central.

The Development Conference, taking place on the 12 February, will look at how housing associations can build on their successes to ensure that they meet Scotland’s housing needs today and in the future.

The conference will see Sarah Buchanan, of Construction Scotland Innovation Centre, and Lorna Wilson, of SFHA, present a session on ‘Innovation and What the Future Looks Like’. Delegates will also hear from Tony Cain from ALACHO, Sarah Boyack from SFHA and Ken Gibb from CACHE on what the future may hold beyond 2021. Graham Collie from SPA, Andy Milne from SURF and Sarah Buchanan will also give a talk on the support and resources that are available for housing associations.

Other highlights of the conference include workshops on new build frameworks, collaborative development, developing homes for an ageing population and building sustainably.

The Procurement Conference, taking place on the 13 February, will look at the main strands of work to improve public sector procurement and how this has affected housing associations.

The conference will see Jonathan Moore from the Scottish Government present a session on the Review of Procurement in Public Construction Review. Lauren Little from TC Young, Robin Fallas from MacRoberts and James McMorrow from Harper MacLeod will lead the Legal Surgery and answer your legal questions on procurement. The conference will also see the launch of the SFHA Community Benefits Best Practice Guide with Colin Taylor from Scotland Excel and Shona Mitchell from SFHA. Lesley Anderson from SPA and Kate Christie from Lintel Trust will talk about delivering benefits for tenants and communities.

Workshops include maximising the benefits of frameworks and delivering benefits longer term.

Both conferences are taking place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central. Delegate fees start at £219 for SFHA members for both conferences or why not book to attend both events for just £375 – a saving of £63.
