To celebrate at Scottish Housing Day on 18 September, an event will be held in Glasgow to discuss housing as a human right.

The debate will hear from Sally Thomas, Chief Executive of SFHA; Convenor of the Scottish Youth Parliament’s Social Security Committee Ryan Kelly MSYP; and Co-chair of the National Taskforce for Human Rights Leadership, Professor Alan Miller as they share their thoughts on housing as a human right.

With the Scottish Government is considering what legislative protections are needed to embed social, cultural and economic rights – including the right to a home – in the Scottish legal system, this debate couldn’t be more timely.

And following a contribution from the panel, there will be a Q&A discussion with the audience.

The event will be chaired by award winning journalist Pennie Taylor and will bring together tenants, landlords and housing professionals from across Scotland. We hope that this will be a genuinely thought provoking and challenging evening of debate and discussion on how we can use human rights to tackle our housing crisis.

A limited number of tickets remain, if you wish to attend the event, please register for the event via Eventbrite.

SFHA members and sector partners are also urged to show their support by adding their logo to the supporter wall.
