SFHA is currently holding a series of legal training sessions which are presented by TC Young. The next session in the series is on bankruptcy, trust deeds and debt arrangements.
Recent news stories have indicated that 700,000 people in Scotland have problem debts. Almost 20,000 people every year enter into a formal arrangement to resolve debt problems. In many cases, the most significant debt is rent arrears.
This training session will look at the various rules which govern the debt arrangement scheme, debt payment programmes, trust deeds and bankruptcy.
Delegates will learn what each of the schemes entail and consider how they impact on recovery of rent arrears and actions for evictions.
The training session will take place on 5 June at the SFHA office in Glasgow. Refreshments will be available from 9.30am, with the training commencing at 10am and concluding at 12:30.
