Lugo becomes SFHA sector associate
Lugo provides IT support services.
Lugo has announced that it has become a Scottish Federation of Housing Associations sector associate.
Lugo was formed in 2003 and prides itself on providing reliable IT support services. Since then, it has enjoyed strong growth, and it now has four office locations, throughout Scotland, in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Inverness.
Lugo comprises a growing team of 13 IT professionals, serving housing associations, third sector charities, accountancy firms and SMEs throughout the country.
Lugo staff have a long history of working with housing associations, an affiliation that goes back to the late 1980s when many associations were in their infancy.
Lugo Housing Association Business Development Lead Steven McGuire is well known in the industry. He witnessed many associations’ first ‘multi-user’ computer systems coming online. In fact, Steven installed many of these systems in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, when he was an IT engineer, at places such as Yorkhill, Shettleston, Queens Cross, Margaret Blackwood – the list goes on. He also witnessed the first PCs coming on to the marketplace, in the days where a single IBM XT personal computer would cost the same amount as a server would nowadays! How times have changed, when the only security back then was making sure you were doing backups and saving your work; user workstations were mostly dumb terminals – old style VDUs.
Lugo Housing Association Business Development Lead Steven McGuire said: “In keeping with the ethos of staff wellbeing and happiness at work, prevalent in the housing association sector, Lugo, as an employer, sees this as a major part of its culture and commitment, with staff development and industry training also featuring high on its list of priorities. Lugo is a happy place to work.
“We look forward to renewing our acquaintance with some old friends in the housing sector and further growing our presence in the sector, working alongside the SFHA.
“We will be using the different media platforms provided by the SFHA to post articles of interest such as cyber security tips, updates and technologies that housing associations will find of interest.
“Lugo will also be providing workshops and webinars, with some of our partners, such as the Scottish Business Resilience Centre, with whom, as a partner, we have a close working relationship that has already been of benefit to our housing association and other clients.
“If you are interested in talking to us about a cyber security presentation for you and your staff, then please get in touch.
“If you are interested in working with an ICT Provider which provides a professional and friendly service, then please get in touch.
“If the times not quite right, then please add us to your potential supplier or quick quote list of potential suppliers.”
