Check in with Dr Kim:

What will you be talking about at the conference?

I will be speaking about the skills that will be crucial to our teams in upcoming years. Housing is a dynamic and varied sector to work in, and it’s important to refresh our learning and keep up-to-date with key issues facing the sector both now and in the future.

What skills do you think will be most crucial for our teams in the upcoming years?

Sustainability and accessibility are two key areas that are likely to become more important. But we also need to continue to promote core skills, including reflective practice, critical thinking, and professional standards.

What can we do more of to empower our teams?

Equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to do their jobs well by investing in their education and training. Our people are our most important resource and the ambassadors for our organizations – we need to invest in them.
