Minister to address delegates at SFHA From Homeless to Housed Conference
From Homeless to Housed 2018, 13 December 2018, Grassmarket Centre, Edinburgh.
35,000 households found themselves without a home last year and presented to their local authority for help. Many more probably are struggling to get a roof over their head, but don’t show up in statistics. Many people wait and wait in temporary accommodation for the chance to get a home.
From Homeless to Housed 2018 is a learning and networking event that brings together a range of experts in homelessness policy and lived experience to explore the latest developments in understanding and tackling homelessness. The event provides an opportunity for housing association teams to share common challenges, positive practice and shared solutions.
Through a combination of key note sessions and world café sessions, delegates will get the chance to learn about key thinking and challenges relating to homelessness and people experiencing and threatened with homelessness.
Sessions cover Rapid Rehousing Transition Plans, Health & Homelessness, Scottish Homes for Cathy, Housing First, Homelessness Prevention Duty – Experience from Wales, and many more key issues.
Kevin Stewart MSP, Minister for Local Government, Housing and Planning, will also address delegates at the conference.
