RSLs, public and third sector organisations were given the opportunity to pitch for a workshop slot at this year’s SFHA annual conference, Housing Scotland 2019, and four winners were chosen by conference delegates.

The SFHA has announced that the second winning workshop pitch is by Scottish Empty Homes Partnership on using empty homes to deliver affordable housing.

There are currently more than 39,000 homes that have been empty for one year or more. In the run up to 2021, and beyond, it is time to take a fresh look at the resources the housing sector has. This workshop will look at what empty homes have to offer housing associations and ways to unlock the potential they offer.

To hear more about how your organisation can use empty homes to deliver affordable housing come along to Housing Scotland 2019. The conference takes place on 11 and 12 June at the newly refurbished Radisson Blu Hotel in central Glasgow.

Residential places start from £595 for SFHA members and £950 for non-members. Or, day delegates can attend for £280. If you book three day places, you will receive a fourth day place free.

To book your place, or for further information, please visit the conference’s event page on the SFHA website.

The next winning workshop will be revealed in tomorrow’s Housing Scotland Today e-newsletter.
