Planning & Land Reform Conference – Programme Announced!
This joint SFHA and SURF conference will examine the opportunities that the new Planning Bill and Land Reform provide to increase the supply of affordable housing both now and in the future.
The availability of land and the working of planning systems have a major impact on the ability of housing associations to deliver quality affordable homes and to create high quality environment and communities where people choose to live.
Delegates at this joint SFHA and SURF conference will hear first-hand from SFHA on new measures introduced in the Planning Bill that aim to help increase the supply of affordable housing – including a provision for Land Value Capture and a requirement that the National Planning Framework sets a housing target.
There will be a talk by SURF Chief Executive Andy Milne on the work SURF is doing with the Scottish Land Commission looking at the development of land by communities.
Delegates will also hear from Petra Biberbach from PAS on Community Engagement, Lesser Heard Voices & Community Place Plans and there will be a panel discussion with Hugh Edgar from RICS, Ewan Leitch from BEFS and Sarah Boyack from SFHA on Delivering More Homes, Better Places & Inclusive Communities.
Workshops on the day include Planning for Better Places, Green Infrastructure & Healthy Communities and Planning for the Future – Town Centre Living & Active Transport.
The conference takes place on the 21 March at the RICS in Edinburgh. Delegate fees start at £219 for SFHA members or £299 for non-members. Why not take advantage of our offer and book three places to get a four FREE?
