Reminder to submit applications for Social Housing Fuel Support Fund

Funded by the Scottish Government, the fund is managed and administered by SFHA.

Posted In

So far, SFHA has received a great response to the £2 million fuel poverty fund, which was announced in November, but there is still time for further organisations to apply.

The fund helps social landlords to support tenants who are struggling with fuel costs. It is funded by the Scottish Government and managed and administered by the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA). It aims to provide practical support to social landlords’ tenants in order to help them to manage, or reduce, their fuel costs. The investment is one of four funds that SFHA has secured for distribution since the start of the pandemic.

Projects have to be able to be delivered by 31 March 2022. Eligibility for the scheme is limited to RSLs (either individually or in groups) but this could include working in partnership with an appropriate delivery partner. SFHA has a number of associates and strategic partners that can support members to deliver projects, so please get in contact if you’d like to explore potential opportunities for this.

Examples of activity that may be funded include vouchers to allow people to top-up pre-payment meters, however, the funding is not reserved only for those using pre-payment meters.

The application form can be found to the right of this article, in the downloads section. Please send applications and enquiries to innovation@sfha.co.uk
