The £2.9 million construction of 27 homes for mid-market rent was partly met by funding from the Affordable Housing Supply Programme, run by Edinburgh Council on behalf of the Scottish Government.

Sustainability is at the very heart of the development; each home has high-performance gas central heating and hot water systems, high thermal insulation and double glazing to create warm, comfortable and energy-efficient homes that will be easy and economical to run.

Key to thermal efficiency was the developer’s decision to utilise RTT’s timber fully reversible windows. With U-values to 0.7 W/m2K, RTT’s windows deliver optimum thermal performance whilst the dual colour finish sits harmoniously with the render and brick exterior finish of the build. RTT also provided high-performance hardwood insulated common entrance doorsets, fire doors and timber composite flat entrance doors, as well as louvered single and double doorsets.
