Scottish Rural and Islands Housing Conference: Sustaining Rural Communities
Event to explore good rural governance, technology and more.
26 and 27 October 2017, Macdonald Marine Hotel, North Berwick
The Scottish Rural and Islands Housing Conference covers a range of topical issues concerning rural housing and communities in Scotland.
This year, the event will explore the value of rural and islands housing associations to the local economy and their communities. Conference session will also discuss good rural governance and how technology can enable rural associations.
As always, workshops will provide a more practical and in-depth look at current issues, including housing’s place in economic strategy, rural fuel poverty and the shape of services for older people.
Hosted by East Lothian Housing Association, the conference will take place on 26 and 27 October at Macdonald Marine Hotel in North Berwick. The pre-conference RIHAF meeting and study tour will take place on Wednesday 25 October.
This year will see the introduction of the ‘RIHAF Development of the Year Award’. The award is an opportunity for rural housing associations across Scotland to enter their best developments.
To enter, simply bring along a one-sided A3 poster. All entries will be displayed throughout the conference, and delegates will choose a winner to be announced on Friday morning. For further details, please see the SFHA website.
The conference will be relevant to anyone with an interest in rural housing issues, including staff and committee members from housing providers.
RIHAF would like to thank the conference sponsors, SPA, R3 Direct and EVH, for their support, which helps keep delegate costs low, making this conference one of the best value events in the sector.
Once again, the forum is delighted that it is able to offer a price freeze on residential places at the conference for RIHAF members. Residential bookings are from £390 for RIHAF members.
