SFHA Annual Conference Launch of the Apprentice Action Plan
Housing associations are known for their expertise in future planning for operational and investment decisions, but what about the most important resource of all – our people?
Annual Conference – Housing The Future
1 & 2 June 2017
DoubleTree By Hilton
We are delighted this year that SHARE will be leading skill sessions for the apprentices around communications and managing conflict!
Alan Ferguson, Director, SHARE says ‘Having worked with a number of housing associations & co-operatives and some fantastic apprentices SHARE welcomed the opportunity to sponsor the Modern Apprenticeship workshops at the SFHA 2017 annual conference’.
On the day two of the conference, the Modern Apprentices will take part in two workshops designed specifically with them in mind. As well as being informative and fun workshops for those attending they will also take back valuable skills to the workplace and add value to their CVs.
The first workshop Communication, Communication and more Communication! will be delivered by Olwyn Gaffney, Training & Development Manager, SHARE. This short workshop will explore communication techniques in a fun and participative way. What your saying doesn’t always end up being understood by the other person, so getting your message across accurately is very important, and understanding someone’s message to you can be equally as challenging.
The second workshop Managing Conflict, will be delivered by Alan Forsythe, Training & Development Manager, SHARE. This session will explore conflict and how, till now, you have reacted to it. You will be introduced to a way of understanding your reactions, the choices you have when faced with conflict, disagreement and challenging situations and how to achieve win-win outcomes for everyone involved.
Limited residential places are available with residential bookings from £560.00 for SFHA members and if you’re attending as a day delegate book 3 and bring a colleague for free. For full details of the programme and how to make a booking, visit the SFHA Events Page at www.sfha.co.uk/events
