SFHA associates and third sector partners: supporting the social housing sector
Part of our transformation in 2020 series of articles showcasing a range of good practice and new ways of working from our members, partners and SFHA.
Restrictions on meeting other people in 2020 mean traditional methods of engaging with tenants, residents and community groups are now being replaced with online and digital support.
Digital Engagement of Tenants Study from TIS
Tenant Information Services supports housing associations and organisations to work together to develop effective solutions and services. Its recent study, Digital Engagement: A Study of Tenants, highlighted the increasing appetite for digital engagement. Study participants recognised a unique opportunity to maximise reach, overcome barriers, and tackle isolation.
Coronavirus Information and Assistance from SCVO
The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) created the Coronavirus Third Sector Information Hub where daily updates were posted with information and resources on areas, including funding, running your organisation, governance, fundraising, volunteering and much more. It also set up the Coronavirus Community Assistance Directory for those supporting communities across Scotland to find and offer help.
Digital service delivery for charities
In partnership with SCVO, Third Sector Lab established the open-source Covid-19: Digital service delivery for charities, an online resource of case studies, examples, and best practice of tech used to deliver specific types of charity services. The editable document is open for all to share work, toolkits or services in order to increase content for users and create a repository for the sector.
Customer care from McTaggart
SFHA associate McTaggart Construction implemented customer care software that allows clients 24/7 access to a portal where they can log and track the progress of aftercare requests. The aim of the portal is to create a transparent and collaborative approach to aftercare. Read more about this here.
EEESH support from Energystore
SFHA associate Energystore worked with Everwarm, Napier University, Construction Scotland Innovation Centre, KIWA and GDGC to pilot and develop a new insulation installation method in tenement properties. Energystore hopes it will help housing associations to reach EEESH targets in properties. Read more about this project here.
Innovation fun fact
Did you know, through LEGO Ideas, fans can submit ideas, and, if 10,000 other fans like it, LEGO will consider developing it into an official product? Users become much more engaged, and LEGO gets great ideas and knowledge of what their customers want.
