This year’s Property Repairs & Asset Management Conference will focus on fire safety standards.

Following the tragic events at Grenfell Tower there has been a focus on ensuring that homes of all tenure are safe and minimise risk.

In Scotland, a Ministerial Working Group has been set up to examine the issue and the Scottish Government have just launched a consultation on Fire & Smoke Alarms in Scottish Homes.  At the same time the Local Government & Communities Committee of the Scottish Parliament have extended their enquiry into Building Standards to look at Fire Safety Standards and have taken evidence from the SFHA, COSLA, RICS and other bodies.

A plenary session at this year’s  conference will hear directly from the Scottish Government on the proposed changes in the consultation.  The conference will also hear from Fraser Carlin, Head of Housing & Planning at Renfrewshire Council, who manage a number of high rise blocks.

The session will provide an opportunity for delegates to discuss fire safety, to respond to the Scottish Government’s proposals and to consider any changes that might be necessary and how these should be funded.

This and lots more at this years Property Repairs & Asset Management Conference on 4 & 5 October 2017 at Golden Jubilee Hotel in Clydebank and if you coming along take advantage of one of our special offers:
