The Scottish Government consultation on the Apprenticeship Levy called for views on how the new levy could be most effectively spent.

The new levy, which was legislated for by the UK Government and will begin in April 2017, will be imposed on organisations with a pay bill of more than £3 million per year.

As this power is devolved, the Scottish Government has power to allocate and spend this money.

Thanks to SFHA members who took the time to complete an online survey, the SFHA, in partnership with CIH Scotland, were able to respond to the Scottish Government consultation.

Commenting, Zhan McIntyre, Policy Lead at SFHA said:

"Thanks to our members, we have been able to represent the views of housing associations to the Scottish Government.

"The SFHA has been working with partners including CIH, SHARE and Skills Development Scotland to increase the attractiveness and use of Modern Apprenticeships in the sector.

"We have called on the Scottish Government to make use of the new funding stream to extend and increase routes into Modern Apprenticeships that best suit the sector."
