SFHA members take part in Food Bank Advent Appeal
Housing associations highlight food poverty.
SFHA members, the length and breadth of Scotland, have responded to the federation’s Food Bank Advent Appeal by generously donating to their local food banks.
Sally Thomas, SFHA Chief Executive said:
“We launched our Food Bank Advent Appeal to highlight the continued effects of welfare reform policies, such as Universal Credit, and their link to soaring food bank use, which was demonstrated by the Trussell Trust earlier this year.
“We have been delighted by the response of our members and SFHA staff to the appeal and hope the donations help to ease some of the burden on food banks and the people who access their services this Christmas.”
The SFHA would like to thank its members for taking part in the appeal and highlighting this important cause.
