SFHA responds to LDAN Bill Consultation

SFHA submitted a response to the Scottish Government’s Learning Disability, Autism and Neurodivergence Bill.

Posted In

Last month, SFHA submitted a response to the Scottish Government’s Learning Disability, Autism and Neurodivergence (LDAN) Bill. The Bill seeks views on how to protect, respect and champion the rights of people with learning disabilities and neurodivergent people across Scotland.

SFHA members are key to providing affordable housing options for neurodivergent people and people with learning disabilities, enabling them to live safely and independently. We believe that the proposals in the Bill have the potential to improve housing outcomes for people with learning disabilities although more needs to be done to address this.

While broadly supporting the proposals in the Bill, our response highlighted challenges around aids and adaptations and the supply of accessible housing. We suggest that any resource and investment should cut across the housing, health and social care partners in recognition of a shared responsibility to support people to live successfully in their communities.

You can read the full response in the downloads section to the right of this article.
