SFHA restarts members’ forums

Meetings to be held virtually on Microsoft Teams.

Posted In

SFHA has announced that it is to restart several of its members’ forums after pausing them due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Forum meetings will now be held virtually using the Microsoft Teams platform. Teams provides a private space for discussion, updates and networking. Teams can be accessed through any web browser, and you do not need any existing software or to download the desktop app.

Existing members of SFHA forums will have been invited to join Teams.

SFHA’s forums are open to all housing association and co-operative members, focus on different areas of social landlords’ work, and aim to support professional learning and development.

The forums that are relaunching are as follows:

East and West Finance Forums

SFHA has two finance forums – East and West – which give finance staff the opportunity to meet and learn about current issues and share common challenges and best practice.

Finance staff from the Scottish Housing Regulator also attend each meeting to provide an overview of any pressing regulatory matters.

The forums also hear from regular guest speakers which are chosen by members.

Housing Management Forum

This forum will be held jointly with Full Circle Solving.

This forum is for staff working in housing management. It discusses the latest updates in this field and allows members to network and share best practice.

The forum also regularly invites speakers to brief members on new developments in housing management.

Factoring Forum

The Factoring Forum is run jointly by SFHA and SHARE and is for members of SFHA, SHARE and GWSF who provide factoring services.

It allows those working in factoring to meet and learn more about current issues and share common challenges and best practice.

Property Repairs and Asset Management Forum

This forum is for staff working on property repairs and asset management to keep up to date with the latest developments, share best practice, and discuss challenges.

Communications Network

This forum is for staff working in, or with an interest in, communications.

The network meets for workshops, speaker-led events, training, or discussion groups.

Meeting dates are to be confirmed and further communication will follow.

You can view our scheduled forums and book your place here.

If you are an SFHA housing association or co-operative member and would like further information about an SFHA forum, or to join, please contact SFHA Membership Engagement Co-ordinator Gillian Duddy gduddy@sfha.co.uk
