On 9 December, the SFHA, and several of its members, will be part of a 9,000-strong crowd that will sleep in the cold for one night in Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens in aid of Social Bite’s Sleep in the Park. The mission of the event is to create a movement to eradicate homelessness in Scotland within the next five years.

The SFHA team comprises Head of Business Development Diane Cooper, Head of Public Affairs Sarah Boyack, Policy and Public Affairs Adviser Shona Mitchell, and Board Director Teresa McNally.

SFHA Head of Business Development Diane Cooper said:

“The SFHA is proud to support Sleep in the Park which will not only raise vital funds for Social Bite’s mission to end homelessness but help to highlight the issue of rough sleeping in Scotland.

“We have an ambitious fundraising target of £3,000 and would really appreciate any donations that will help us meet this.

“We are excited to be taking park and look forward to joining our members who are also supporting the event.”

Social Bite’s Sleep out will see musicians, including Liam Gallagher, Deacon Blue, Frightened Rabbit and Amy Macdonald busking stripped back acoustic sets. Rob Brydon will host the event, Sir Bob Geldof will sleep out, and John Cleese has agreed to come and read a bedtime story!
