SFHA welcomes Lorna Wilson to federation for one-year secondment
Secondment to focus on innovative thinking in the social housing sector.
The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) is pleased to announce that Lorna Wilson, Research and Development Manager at Wheatley Group, has joined the federation from today for a one-year secondment to lead a new project on innovative thinking in the social housing sector.
Lorna will be exploring and looking for solutions to the key issues facing the sector, consulting with SFHA members to identify their priorities and working closely with the SFHA Public Affairs Team to ensure that the project informs, and is informed by, policy and practice.
Potential topics to be explored include the impact of digital technology on service provision; innovation in design, construction and maintenance; identifying and maximising housing’s contribution to tackling poverty and achieving inclusive growth; what do we mean by affordability?; and what will be the social purpose of housing in 2025?
Lorna has worked in the housing sector for over 20 years; around 10 of these have been in leadership roles. Her career spans the public, independent and consultancy sectors. Lorna’s previous experience includes devising and leading a multi-agency partnership which developed dozens of support services for vulnerable people, and leading strategic and business planning processes for Glasgow Housing Association. Lorna established and currently leads the Research and Development team at Wheatley Group which provides insight and understanding to shape services across housing and care.
