SFHA welcomes new Board members
Following the SFHA AGM at the end of August, we extend a warm welcome to Alana Durnin, Martin Wilkie-McFarlane and Ranald Brown as the newest members of the Board.
At the SFHA AGM on 29 August 2018, Alana Durnin was elected as the City of Glasgow Constituency representative and nominated by Drumchapel Housing Co-operative as a Governing Body Member. Following Drumchapel Housing Co-operative’s elections to their Board, Alana no longer sits on their Board and therefore there was a vacancy for the City of Glasgow Constituency.
The SFHA Board took the decision at the September Board meeting to co-opt Alana onto Board up until the 2019 elections where she will be able to stand as a candidate for the Other Urban Areas Constituency as an Executive Member of Oak Tree HA.
The City of Glasgow Constituency has now been filled by Martin Wilkie-McFarlane, Wellhouse HA, who held the next highest number of votes following the official ballot.
The SFHA Board also endorsed the co-option of Ranald Brown, Director of Assurance at The Wheatley Group.
Sally Thomas, SFHA CEO, said: “These appointments further strengthen the SFHA Board, enhancing and complementing the skills and expertise we already have.”
Gerry O’Sullivan, SFHA Chair, said: “The governance of SFHA and the strategic approach it delivers for the sector will benefit significantly from these appointments. I look forward to working with a Board that is dynamic, passionate and with an impressive depth and breadth of knowledge and experience.”
