SFHA welcomes Weslo Housing Management!
Weslo Housing Management becomes SFHA’s newest member.
The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) is delighted to welcome its newest member, Weslo Housing Management.
Set up in 1993, Weslo Housing Management is one of the leading providers of housing and property services in West Lothian and Falkirk districts.
Speaking about joining SFHA for the first time, Mike Bruce, Weslo Chief Executive, said:
“Weslo Housing Management is very pleased to announce its membership of the SFHA. Not a statement I ever anticipated making I must say, but here we are, fully fledged members of Scotland’s membership body for Housing Associations.
“That we’re not actually a Housing Association is not an immediate issue, less so in fact than the chequered history of our relationship with SFHA in the years since our inception in 1994.
“It’s no secret that we haven’t always seen eye to eye, particularly in our early years, but gradually, as the years have gone by, housing legislation has come and gone, as indeed have people and politicians, our differences have diminished and our similarities in values, goals and purpose have increased.
“Which brings up to the present where we believe the time is now right to add our voice to the SFHA collective as we face the challenge of keeping housing and housing supply at the forefront of the political debate in these, the most challenging times our country has faced in decades.
“We look forward to engaging in discussion and debate with our peers as well as playing our part in the wider network of RSLs and other colleagues and of course benefitting as an organisation, from the many services the SFHA has to offer, not least in the fields of training, learning and professional development.”
Welcoming Weslo Housing Management to SFHA membership for the first time, SFHA Chief Executive Sally Thomas said:
"We are delighted to welcome Weslo Housing Management as they become SFHA's newest member!
“Each one of our 132 members strengthens our collective voice as the national body for Scotland’s RSLs when working to influence and advocate in the best interests of our members and their tenants.
“The more we can represent our members across Scotland, the more we can broaden and strengthen the sector’s contribution to social justice and inclusive growth.”
SFHA hopes that members will join SFHA staff and Board in extending a very warm welcome to Weslo Housing Management.
