SFHA’s Innovations Factory welcomes Sawyer the robot!
Sawyer, a revolutionary collaborative robot pioneered by Construction Scotland Innovation Centre, has kindly offered to welcome delegates to SFHA’s Innovations Factory event, which takes place on 22 January in Glasgow.
The robot has been designed to execute tasks that have been impractical to automate with traditional industrial robots.
Sawyer, manufactured by Rethink Robotics, gives manufacturers the high performance automation they need, while maintaining the flexibility, safety and affordability.
Featuring a 7 degree of freedom robot arm with a 1260 mm reach that maneuvers into tight spaces and operates in work cells designed for humans, its built-in force sensing capabilities allow it to make adaptive decisions as tasks run, enabling Sawyer to work precisely (+/- .1 mm), while operating safely next to people.
Sawyer will be demonstrating its abilities at the event, which will be showcasing the concepts of housing in the next few decades and how technology and new systems of construction will contribute.
